After receiving the CO a few weeks ago, we have begun to move product from our existing warehouse to the new DC. Tom McKain from our Logistics Team, is seen here beginning to fill the new racks.

The installation of the In-Rack Foam Fire Sprinkler Grid is in progress. The sprinkler system will have a biodegradable solution injected to create foam fire suppression, enhancing its effectiveness.

The exterior finish work continues with the front entrance canopy being completed as well as the finish layer for the driveways and parking lot.

The Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony for the Joseph P. Somers Distribution Center was held with a number of state and local dignitaries as well as local media in attendance.

Now that the initial layer of macadam base has been laid, the landscaping is being completed.

The paving of the parking lot and driveways is almost complete. The initial 4 1/2 inch macadam base course has been laid and the final top course will be applied after the landscaping has been installed.

May 6, 2008 The finish work on the interior continues with the cement floor sealant being applied to the loading dock area (shown) as well as the warehouse section of the DC. The next step for the interior will be the installation of the tile floors in the lobby, offices, bathrooms, and cafeteria.

April 30, 2008 The landscape retaining walls at the building entrance have been completed as well as the exterior grading of the parking lots and driveways. The next step for the exterior will be final inspections before the paving begins.

April 14, 2008 As the exterior grading work around the Distribution Center is nearing completion, the construction focus on the interior is on the framing and construction of the interior offices, locker rooms, bathrooms, and cafeteria. |

April 7, 2008 The final exterior grading and installation of stone sub-base is being completed in order to prepare for the construction of the various drives and parking lots.

March 27, 2008 Vigon's electrician Mark Borger, is busy finalizing the installation of a state-of-the-art computerized lighting panel which will automatically manage and control the lighting system within the Distribution Center.

February 19, 2008 With the exterior construction complete, and the interior floors poured, interior construction, electrical, and plumbing has begun.

November 5, 2007 Now that the exterior Distribution Center wall construction is nearly completed, the installation of the roof has begun. The next step after the roof is complete will be to begin pouring the interior concrete flooring. |

September 21, 2007 The decorative split-face cement blocks which will form the bottom portion of the Distribution Center walls are currently being put in place. Once the block portion of the wall is complete, the insulated steel panels will be installed on the upper portion of the wall.

September 7, 2007 The floor sub-base is in place and the steel erection is in progress. The steel being placed is for half of the building structure. .

June 22, 2007 Now that the additional blasting that was required to prepare the building base is complete, we have begun to form and pour the concrete for the base footings. These footings will support the exterior columns and walls as well as the flooring for the building. .

April 12, 2007 Now that the installation of the controlled fill sub-base is near completion, we will begin ground probing to determine if additional blasting will be required for the underground utility services as well as for the building footings.

March 12, 2007 We have begun to clear and stage for future use, much of the original topsoil on the site. This is being done to make way for shipments of controlled fill which will form a stable base for the installation of the footings, foundation, and pavement.

March 2, 2007 Now that the initial blasting has been completed, a retaining wall is being completed with the Cap Rock from the blasting ledge on the property.
